The Company

Texas based Keg Connection aims to be the one stop source of kegs and kegging supplies for homebrewers and users of commercial keg beer. They are not the only supplier of draft beer equipment out there, but their top-notch customer service makes them one of the best.

The Issue

Keg Connection owner, Todd Burns, found his business growing at a breakneck pace. However, with success comes new challenges. One challenge that reared it's ugly head was the sheer number of phonecalls Keg Connection was receiving about how to properly assemble and use their equipment. Draft beer equipment is strange in that the majority of the parts are extremely simple to use...once you see it done. For many people, us at Phenix included, seeing is understanding. In Todd's case, time spent on the phone was time not spent filling orders and taking care of the other aspects of his business.

The Solution

Todd knew that he was going to have to make instructional information readily available to his client-base if he ever hoped to silence the phones. He set out to accomplish this by posting a call for help on his website. Anyone who has any relevant information, pictures, or tutorials, about the assembly and use of draft beer equipment, please send! Steve, of PNM, stumbled onto this message while purchasing some equipment off of Todd's website to feed his homebrewing obsession. He didn't know much about draft beer at the time, but he did know the value of a 3D animation, and this would be a perfect application. Steve contacted Todd and explained how a 3D animation could really be the solution to his problem, as they are very clean (everything is plainly visible, nobody is getting in the way of the shot (ie: a home video), and once you incorporate text into the video, you've got a winner. Todd was not completely convinced, until he saw the first animation. PNM has been happily creating videos for Keg Connection ever since.

The Result

Providing unmatched customer service has always been Keg Connection's credo. Supplying its customers with clear and concise instruction when they purchase equipment was the next logical step! Todd is able to spend more time filling orders and less time on the phone.
